Recently, a video went viral purportedly showing a heated argument between singers Thalía and Becky G during the Latin American Music Awards. Thalía and Becky G became trending topics on social media after footage surfaced allegedly capturing a disagreement at the 2024 Latin American Music Awards ceremony held in Las Vegas.
Amidst the frenzy sparked by the video, the Mexican star broke her silence. Through a video posted on her TikTok account, she revealed what truly transpired at that moment and whether she actually had a spat with her colleague.
Thalía was one of the main hosts of the 2024 Latin American Music Awards in Las Vegas, alongside Carlos Ponce, Becky G, and Alejandra Espinoza.
Despite the apparent camaraderie among the hosts during the event’s broadcast, a video circulated on social media suggesting a rift between the Mexican singer and the American artist during one of the ceremony’s breaks.
In the video, Carlos Ponce stands between the two singers, who seem to be engaged in a discussion. Becky G, apparently displeased with Thalía, gestures as if signaling to put an end to the argument.
Conversely, Thalía is seen trying to maintain her composure and conversing with her colleague, with whom she collaborated on the duet “Como tú no hay dos” some years ago.
Following the uproar caused by the video on social media, Thalía addressed the controversy through a video shared on her TikTok account, where she explained what really happened during the awards ceremony.
Thalía mentioned that gossip was easily fabricated and clarified that she and Becky G were allegedly inquiring about who had eaten the hamburgers they had ordered. “Don’t believe the hamburger story; see how easy it is to create gossip. People love to gossip. Let me tell you what we were really talking about.”
The actress and singer explained that there was no argument between her and Becky G. Thalía revealed that they were merely discussing the issues Becky G encountered during her performance, as she had trouble with her shoes.
“What Becky and I were talking about were our performances. She was telling us that the shoes she wore during her performance weren’t the same ones she rehearsed with, and mind you, the floor was slippery for her. She was saying, ‘the floor was slippery, and I hadn’t tried them on,’ so I said to her, ‘that’s why I always rehearse with the shoes I’m going to sing in.’ That’s all there is to it. Don’t be gossipy.”
Finally, the singer explained that there was always a good relationship among the four hosts. “Becky and I love each other, Carlos Ponce, Becky, and I love each other, Carlos Ponce, Becky, Ale, and I love each other, and gossipmongers are unnecessary, so don’t start spreading rumors. We had a great time.”
