Vibrant Orange Tuna Medley

INGREDIENTS
  • 220 g orange
  • 275 g tuna
  • 190 g mixed greens
  • 90 g cucumber
  • 110 g tomatoes
  • 45 g red onion
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 40 ml lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Prepare orange and tuna first, then wash, dry, and cut the supporting produce. Keep watery vegetables drained so they do not dilute the dressing during assembly, through the final stage.

Toast nuts or seeds, cook grains, and prepare any protein before combining the salad. Let warm components cool enough to protect delicate greens and fresh herbs, for a cleaner finish.

Mix the dressing in a small bowl until glossy and uniform. Adjust salt, acidity, sweetness, or mustard gradually, tasting after every change before adding it to vegetables, before final serving.

Arrange the main ingredients across a broad serving bowl instead of piling them tightly. This makes tossing easier and helps fragile pieces retain their shape, to preserve the fresh texture.

Spoon dressing around the bowl rather than onto one spot, then toss gently with clean tongs. Stop once the surfaces look lightly coated and evenly seasoned, through the final stage. Related: Pasta Tuna.

Finish with cheese, herbs, nuts, seeds, or citrus just before serving. Add crunchy ingredients last so they remain crisp instead of softening in the dressing, before moving to final serving.

Serve Vibrant Orange Tuna Medley at the proper temperature and with a restrained matching garnish. Store leftovers promptly, then reheat, chill, or refresh them according to the dish, if necessary.
