- 4-6 ripe tomatoes, diced
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Baguette or Italian bread, sliced
- Olive oil for brushing
In a bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, chopped basil, minced garlic, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar (if using). Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Mix well to ensure all ingredients are evenly distributed. Allow the tomato mixture to marinate for at least 15-20 minutes to enhance the flavors.
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the sliced baguette or Italian bread on a baking sheet. Lightly brush each slice with olive oil.
Toast the bread slices in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes or until they are golden brown and crisp. Alternatively, you can use a grill or a toaster.
Once the bread is toasted, remove it from the oven or grill. Spoon the tomato mixture onto each slice of bread, spreading it evenly.
Arrange the bruschettas on a serving platter. Optionally, drizzle a bit of extra olive oil on top. Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious Tomato Bruschetta!
