Prosciutto e Funghi Pizza

////////////

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 (12-inch) pre-made pizza crust or homemade dough
  • ½ cup tomato sauce (marinara or pizza sauce)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 ounces thinly sliced cooked ham
  • 1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional, for brushing)
  • Pinch of dried oregano or Italian seasoning

Preheat your oven to the temperature recommended on your pizza crust packaging, usually around 400-450°F (200-230°C). If you’re using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while preheating for a crispier crust. Prepare a baking sheet if not using a stone.

Carefully spread the tomato sauce evenly over the entire surface of the pizza crust, leaving a small border for the crust. Ensure the sauce layer is not too thick, preventing a soggy pizza.

Sprinkle about half of the shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce. This layer will help create a good foundation for the toppings. Make sure it’s evenly distributed for consistent melting.

Evenly arrange the thinly sliced cooked ham over the cheese layer. Then, scatter the fresh mushroom slices over the ham. You can add more or less depending on your preference.

Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese over the ham and mushrooms. If desired, lightly brush the crust edges with olive oil and sprinkle with a pinch of dried oregano or Italian seasoning for extra flavor.

Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned. Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy your delicious homemade pizza!
