- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3-4 tablespoons cold water
- 100g Turkish delight, chopped into small pieces
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
Start by mixing the flour, sugar, and salt in a bowl. Add cold butter and rub it in until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
Gradually add cold water, one tablespoon at a time, until the dough comes together. Wrap it in plastic and chill for 30 minutes.
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Roll out the chilled dough into a thin circle about 8 inches wide on a floured surface.
Cut the dough into 8 equal triangles. Place a small piece of Turkish delight near the wide end of each triangle carefully.
Roll each triangle from the wide end to the tip, forming crescent shapes. Place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
Brush the crescents gently with the beaten egg for a golden finish. Bake them for 15-20 minutes until lightly golden and crisp.
Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly. Dust the crescents with powdered sugar before serving for an extra sweet touch.
