Parfait with hazelnuts and crunchy cereals

INGREDIENTS

For the Creamy Layers

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup mascarpone or cream cheese
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup melted milk chocolate
  • 1/4 cup Nutella (optional)

For the Crunchy Topping

  • 2 tbsp chopped hazelnuts
  • 2 tbsp chocolate curls or shavings
  • 2 tbsp crispy chocolate pearls or cocoa nibs

Whip the heavy cream in a large chilled bowl until soft peaks form. Be careful not to overwhip. Set aside while preparing the cheese mixture.

In another bowl, blend mascarpone (or cream cheese) with powdered sugar and vanilla. Stir until smooth and well combined. Add melted chocolate and optional Nutella, then mix.

Gently fold the whipped cream into the chocolate-cheese mixture using a spatula. Fold until the texture is smooth and fluffy without deflating the cream.

Layer the creamy mixture into serving glasses, filling them halfway. Use a spoon or piping bag for cleaner layers and a neater presentation.

Sprinkle the crunchy topping over the creamy base. Use chopped hazelnuts, chocolate curls, and cocoa nibs for a delightful, layered texture and extra flavor.

Repeat with another creamy layer, then finish with more topping. Chill the parfaits for at least one hour to allow the flavors and textures to set.

Serve cold, garnished with a few extra chocolate shavings or hazelnuts. This parfait makes an elegant dessert with a delicious balance of smooth and crunchy.
