Following the Sundance Film Festival premiere of her latest film, Kiss of the Spider Woman, Jennifer Lopez attended the 2025 Grammy Awards wearing a shimmering, sheer skirt. Opting to forgo the red carpet, the singer and actress discreetly arrived at the ceremony, making a brief on-screen appearance during the Best New Artist medley. Seated beside her longtime manager, Benny Medina, she later took the stage to present the award for Best Latin Pop Album to Shakira.
Lopez is not nominated for any awards tonight, with her last Grammy nod dating back to 2000 for Let’s Get Loud in the Best Dance Recording category. However, her appearance could mark the beginning of an extensive press tour for Kiss of the Spider Woman, which earned strong reviews following its Sundance premiere. The film has yet to secure a distributor or release date. “I’ve been waiting for this moment my whole life,” Lopez told the festival audience.
An adaptation of the stage musical by Terrence McNally, John Kander, and Fred Ebb, the film is based on Manuel Puig’s novel Kiss of the Spider Woman. Lopez takes on the role of Ingrid Luna, originally played by the late Chita Rivera on Broadway, showcasing her singing and dancing as the seductive femme fatale who kills with a kiss. The film also stars Diego Luna, Tonatiuh, and Tony Dovolani.
