ICE CREAM CAKE WITH BELGIAN CHOCOLATE

/////////////

INGREDIENTS

For the Cake Base:

1 pack of chocolate cookies (Oreos or similar)
1/4 cup melted butter
For the Ice Cream Layers:

1.5 liters of your favorite ice cream (chocolate, vanilla, or a mix)
1/2 cup Belgian chocolate, chopped or in chunks
1/4 cup heavy cream (for melting the chocolate)

For the Belgian Chocolate Ganache:

200g Belgian chocolate (dark or milk)
1/2 cup heavy cream

For Decoration (optional):

Chopped nuts (e.g. almonds, pistachios)
Chocolate shavings or sprinkles
Fresh berries

PREPARATION METHOD

Crush the chocolate cookies in a food processor or by placing them in a ziplock bag and using a rolling pin until they are fine crumbs. Mix the crushed cookies with the melted butter. Press this mixture into the bottom of a springform pan (8-9 inches) to create a firm base. Use the back of a spoon to press it evenly. Freeze for 10-15 minutes to set.

Slightly soften your chosen ice cream by letting it sit out for a few minutes, then spread the first layer of ice cream over the cookie crust. Melt the Belgian chocolate by heating it with 1/4 cup of heavy cream in a microwave-safe bowl. Stir it every 20 seconds until smooth. Let it cool slightly, then fold the Belgian chocolate into a portion of the softened ice cream. This creates a rich, chocolatey layer. Pour the chocolate ice cream mixture onto the first layer of plain ice cream, smoothing it out evenly. Add another layer of plain ice cream on top, smoothing it over as well. Freeze the cake for at least 3 hours or overnight for the layers to set.

Heat the remaining 1/2 cup heavy cream in a small saucepan until just about to boil. Pour the hot cream over the Belgian chocolate in a separate bowl. Let it sit for a minute and then stir until smooth. Let the ganache cool down a little, then pour it over the ice cream cake. Use a spatula to spread it evenly over the top and let it drip down the sides.

Sprinkle chopped nuts, chocolate shavings, or fresh berries on top for extra decoration and flavor. Freeze the cake for at least 1 hour to set the ganache and toppings.

When ready to serve, remove the ice cream cake from the springform pan. Let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes for easier slicing.
