Without a doubt, Thalía is one of the most recognized Latin singers, as she has had a long and successful career spanning over three decades. Her fame in music has been complemented by her impact on social media networks, because thanks to her warmth and authenticity, she has managed to become a celebrity on these platforms as well. But beyond these facets, the “Amor a la Mexicana” singer is also a successful businesswoman, as she has leveraged the impact of her artistic career to promote various business initiatives, some of them related to the fashion world.
Precisely because of her role as a successful entrepreneur, Thalía was invited to one of the most important and recognized educational institutions in the world: Harvard University. The singer shared a glimpse of this exciting experience, which she dedicated to a very special person in her life: her father.
Thalía was invited to participate in the conference “Latin America in 2030: opportunities, challenges, and our role in the region’s future,” because it is a market she knows very well. Excited, the singer shared a glimpse of her arrival at Harvard Business School.
She posed in front of the facade of this important educational institution. Before her presentation, she was seen in a casual yet elegant black outfit from Louis Vuitton, with high-heeled boots and a lined vest.
By posting these and more photos from her visit to Harvard, Thalía shared a touching message explaining why this experience was particularly significant. “My father died when I was six years old, I remember very little about him, but what I do remember is spending hours in his laboratory talking about biology,” she wrote.
“He told me, ‘One day you will be a very famous biologist and you will go to Harvard to study’,” the singer continued, recalling the words of her father, Ernesto Sodi, who was a prominent writer and criminologist.
“Well, I’m not a biologist, but I am famous, and I have been to Harvard as an entrepreneur. This is dedicated to you, Dad!” she added in her post. The singer’s father passed away in 1977 due to diabetes.
“What an honor to have been invited as the Keynote Speaker at the ‘Latam Business Conference 2023’ at @harvardhbs @mitsloan,” she added in her message. This conference brings together leaders from various sectors each year to focus on the business landscape in Latin America, as well as to promote relationships among entrepreneurs, leaders, students, and academia.
“The opportunity to share my experience, trajectory, and discuss my business with great minds fills me with pride and happiness. Thank you, Harvard! Until next time,” concluded the singer, who was seen in an elegant and sophisticated white pantsuit.
Harvard Business School often invites successful entrepreneurs from the entertainment industry to speak about their companies. Among these are prominent figures such as Kim Kardashian, Scarlett Johansson, Alex Rodriguez, and Channing Tatum. This year, alongside Thalía, Mexican broadcaster and Nicaraguan-origin businesswoman Martha Debayle was also present.
