Coconut Sponge Balls

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 cup desiccated coconut
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup milk powder
  • 1/2 cup condensed milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • Extra desiccated coconut for rolling
PREPARATION METHOD

In a mixing bowl, combine desiccated coconut, powdered sugar, and milk powder. Add condensed milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix all the ingredients until a dough-like consistency forms.

Take a small portion of the mixture and roll it between your palms to form small balls. Ensure the balls are compact and evenly shaped. Continue shaping the mixture into balls until all of it is used.

Spread extra desiccated coconut on a plate or shallow bowl. Roll each coconut ball in the desiccated coconut until they are evenly coated. Place the coated balls on a tray or plate lined with parchment paper.

Once all the balls are coated, place them in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to firm up. After chilling, your coconut sponge balls are ready to serve as a delightful snack or dessert!

For added flavor, mix in some finely chopped nuts like almonds or cashews into the mixture before shaping the balls. Drizzle melted chocolate over the chilled coconut balls for an extra indulgent treat.
