– 1 cup water
– 2 tablespoons white sugar
– 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1 cup all-purpose flour
– 2 quarts oil for frying
– 1/2 cup white sugar, or to taste
– 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
– 1/2 cup chocolate chips
– 1/4 cup heavy cream
1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine water, 2 tablespoons sugar, 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, and salt. Bring the mixture to a boil, then remove from heat. Stir in the flour until the mixture forms a ball.
2. Heat oil for frying in a deep-fryer or large skillet to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Pipe strips of dough into the hot oil using a pastry bag. Fry until golden; drain on paper towels.
3. Combine 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon. Roll drained churros in cinnamon and sugar mixture.
4. In a small saucepan, melt the chocolate chips with the heavy cream over low heat, stirring until smooth. Serve churros with warm chocolate sauce for dipping.
